About Research
The Danish Epilepsy Centre is Denmark’s one and only hospital specialized in epilepsy. We treat patients from all over Denmark, who are difficult to diagnose, classify or treat. The Danish Epilepsy Centre has a nationwide and partially nationwide function in epilepsy within paediatrics, neurology and clinical neurophysiology.
It is the Danish Epilepsy Centre’s vision as a centre to join the world’s elite within epilepsy, and a highly prioritized strategy with emphasis on research to move into the direction of our vision. Research at the Danish Epilepsy Centre is mainly clinical and based on the patients at the centre.
Through research activities it is our objective to contribute to extending the knowledge of epilepsy and hereby improving the possibilities for examination and treatment of epilepsy and bordering diseases. From 2003 to 2008 a variety of research projects have been initiated at the Danish Epilepsy Centre, which are divided into five groups under Present Projects. A more detailed description of the various projects can be referred to in the annual research reports.
